Zygomatic implants in Costa Rica

When bone is limited, another option may be possible

A specialist option for selected cases of severe upper-jaw bone loss. Support from the cheekbone may make rehabilitation possible when conventional implants alone are not suitable.

An alternative anchor

The cheekbone provides support when upper-jaw bone is insufficient.

An alternative to some grafts

Selected patients may avoid extensive bone augmentation procedures.

Restoration-led planning

Implant positions are considered together with the future restoration.

How it works

Zygomatic implants anchor in the cheekbone and may be combined with other implants to support an upper-jaw restoration. Their path and the health of the maxillary sinuses require specialist assessment.

Who may be a candidate?

They may be considered for selected patients with major upper-jaw bone loss, including some patients whose previous implant or graft treatment failed. Imaging to assess the upper jaw, cheekbones and sinuses forms part of planning.

Your treatment, step by step

  1. Your history: we discuss health, previous treatment and your goals.
  2. Three-dimensional assessment: anatomy, bone and tissues are evaluated and alternatives compared.
  3. A complete plan: surgery, restoration, preparation, estimate and risks are discussed.
  4. Treatment and follow-up: placement and restorative stages follow your clinical progress.

What to understand before deciding

This is complex surgery. Potential problems include sinusitis, infection, changes in sensation, implant loss and restorative complications. Team experience, case selection and follow-up are important.
