Dental bridges in Costa Rica
Close the gap and restore continuity to your smile
Replace one or more missing teeth with a fixed restoration supported by teeth or implants. We assess the supports and the gap to plan a solution that fits your bite.

Replacement teeth remain in place for daily use.

Tooth-supported and implant-supported designs are considered according to your needs.
What is a dental bridge?
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth with a restoration supported by nearby teeth or implants. A fixed bridge stays in your mouth and is removed by a dental professional. Its design depends on the gap, the available supports and your bite.
The artificial tooth filling the gap is called a pontic. The teeth and gums supporting the restoration need assessment before a design is recommended.
Bridges supported by teeth or implants
Support from natural teeth
Nearby teeth hold the bridge. Conventional designs require preparation of those supporting teeth. Discuss how much structure would be changed and whether those teeth already have extensive restorations.
Support from implants
Implants provide the support, with different planning and surgical stages. Learn about our dental implants. The number of supports and restoration design are determined individually.
A bridge, an individual implant and a removable denture involve different trade-offs. Ask about the alternatives, including the implications of leaving a space unrestored when that is a clinical option.
How treatment is organized
- Assessment: examination of your teeth, gums and bite, with any necessary imaging.
- Proposal: agreement on supports, material, stages and costs.
- Preparation and records: preparation of the supports and records for the restoration; a temporary restoration may be needed.
- Try-in and fitting: checks of fit, contacts and appearance before final placement.
- Follow-up: cleaning instructions and review visits.
OG Center has an in-house dental laboratory. Ask how your case will be coordinated and how many appointments to expect. Not every bridge follows the same timetable.
Aftercare and limitations
Your bridge needs daily cleaning, including beneath the artificial tooth. Ask for a demonstration using aids suited to its design. Review visits allow your dentist to assess the supports and the restoration.
Possible problems include sensitivity, decay in supporting teeth, gum problems, loosening or fracture. Some prepared teeth may need root canal treatment. A bridge is not guaranteed to last for life.
Contact the clinic if you notice movement, persistent pain or a change in your bite. Do not attempt to attach it with household glue.
What affects the cost of a bridge?
Your written estimate should identify the teeth being replaced, the supports, the proposed material and any preliminary procedures. Confirm whether records, temporary restorations, try-ins, placement and reviews are included. For an implant-supported bridge, ask for surgery and prosthetic components to be itemized.
Bring information about previous treatment and explain your priorities for function, appearance and timing. An evaluation helps you compare proposals that address the same need.
Frequently asked questions
Is a bridge the same as a crown?
No. A crown restores a tooth or the visible part of an implant. A bridge uses supports to replace one or more missing teeth.
Is an implant always better?
There is no universal answer. Assessment helps compare the neighboring teeth, suitability for surgery and the maintenance each option requires.
Can I remove it for cleaning?
A fixed bridge is not removed at home. Your team will explain how to clean around and beneath it.
